The Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), Dr Toni Aubynn, will deliver an important address at the upcoming Ghana Biennial International Summit & Exhibition (GH-BISE).
The summit, which will bring together global leaders and policymakers, is scheduled to take place from May 20 to 22, 2026, at the Palms by Eagles Hotel in Accra.
Under the theme “Sustainable Energy for Africa: Powering Growth, Innovation and Inclusion,” the three-day conference will feature senior government officials and prominent private sector players who will showcase how Ghana’s business climate offers a conducive environment for investment.
In his address, Dr Aubynn is expected to position the Petroleum Hub project as Ghana’s premier investment destination.
He will highlight the project’s core and ancillary infrastructure and present the various investment opportunities available within the hub.
In addition to his keynote speech, Dr Aubynn will participate in a panel discussion focused on strategies to mobilise capital while ensuring that energy development drives inclusive growth, fosters innovation, and promotes equity across Africa.
Organised by the SPE Ghana Section, this summit serves as a premier platform for networking and strategic collaboration. Attendees will have the valuable opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders like Dr. Aubynn to gain insights into the regulatory frameworks, infrastructure developments, and fiscal incentives shaping the future of Africa’s energy sector.
About the PHDC
The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) was established under the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation Act, 2020 (Act 1053), to lead the development of a world-class petroleum and petrochemical hub in Ghana. The hub is intended to serve the energy needs of the West African sub-region and the broader continent.
PHDC aims to promote innovation, research, and strategic infrastructure development to meet Africa’s growing demand for petroleum products and services. By creating an integrated petroleum value chain, the Corporation seeks to unlock economic opportunities, foster industrial growth, and create sustainable employment for Ghanaians and citizens across Africa.
About the Petroleum Hub Project
The Petroleum Hub Project will be located in Jomoro, in Ghana’s Western Region. The hub will comprise: Three refineries with a total capacity of 900,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD), Five petrochemical plants with a minimum capacity of 90,000 BPSD. Storage tanks with a cumulative capacity of 10 million cubic meters and at least two jetties to support import and export activities.
The project is poised to position Ghana as a leading petroleum and petrochemical hub in Africa, enhancing regional energy security and economic integration.
