Qatari-based business conglomerate Al Kaabi Holding Group has firmed up its strong interest in Ghana’s Petroleum Hub project with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) on Monday, July 13, 2026.

The MoU, which follows a series of extensive engagements, was signed by Mr Muhammad Mubarak Al Kaabi, Chairman of Al Kaabi Holding Group, and Dr Toni Aubynn, on behalf of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation.

Speaking at the brief signing ceremony, Dr Toni Aubynn described the MoU as a crucial step that formalises the promising partnership between PHDC and Al Kaabi Holding Group.

He shed light on the critical role of international partnerships in the successful execution of the Petroleum Hub Project, noting that Ghana’s thriving democracy and longstanding record of peace and stability make it one of Africa’s most attractive investment destinations.

He further explained that Ghana’s strategic geographical location positions the country as both the gateway to West Africa and a central hub for continental trade and that this development guarantees a reliable feedstock supply for potential investors.

“Ghana is endowed with the natural and human resources necessary to support a project of this magnitude. This hub will strengthen our position within the regional energy corridor and drive significant economic development across Ghana and the broader African continent,” Dr Aubynn stated.

Mr Muhammad Mubarak Al Kaabi disclosed that the signing of the MoU reflects his organisation’s firm belief in the Petroleum Hub project and its strong desire to invest in and support Ghana’s vision of becoming a leading player in Africa’s energy sector.

He reaffirmed his company’s commitment to ensuring the successful delivery of the partnership and expressed strong confidence in Ghana’s investment climate.

He concluded that the collaboration opens vast opportunities for long-term growth and mutual development.
