Chinese multi-industry company, Jereh Group, has held productive exploratory talks with the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) as it seeks to participate in the development of the transformative project, which will be sited in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region.

The meeting, held on Monday, June 15, 2026, saw a four-member delegation from the company, led by its Vice President, Jake An, engage extensively with the Chief Executive Officer of PHDC, Dr Toni Aubynn, and other management members.

In his welcome remarks, Dr Toni Aubynn elaborated on the concept of the Petroleum Hub project, describing it as Ghana’s biggest attempt at addressing the continent’s perennial energy challenges.

He further explained the role of PHDC as the primary driver of investment into the project, disclosing that the corporation, in line with its mandate, is actively engaging and seeking credible investors to participate in the development and operationalisation of the hub.

After receiving a detailed presentation from the Business Development Unit of PHDC, Jake An of Jereh Group disclosed that his company is globally recognised, with a strong footprint in the United States, Iran, China, and several other countries.

He positioned Jereh Group as a key player not only in the global oil and gas industry but also in the technology and industrial facility construction sectors, with a market capitalisation of $24 billion dollars.

He expressed confidence in the Petroleum Hub’s value proposition and signalled his company’s commitment to continued dialogue and engagement with PHDC.

In response, Dr Toni Aubynn observed that Jereh Group’s operations align perfectly with the Petroleum Hub concept and highlighted the petrochemical plants, as well as the ports and jetties, as potential areas for investment.

He noted that the Petroleum Hub represents a significant opportunity for the corporation to make inroads in Ghana and contribute meaningfully to the country’s energy infrastructure development.

The preliminary meeting concluded with both PHDC and Jereh Group committing to further discussions on opportunities for collaboration.
