Chief Executive Officer๏ผŒ CEO of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), Dr. Toni Aubynn, will be joining H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, along with the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, and other prominent dignitaries as speakers at the 2025 Africa Energy Technology Conference (AETC).

Taking place from May 27โ€“29, 2025, the AETC is expected to bring together government officials, policymakers, energy experts, and global industry leaders to explore forward-looking investment opportunities and partnerships within Africaโ€™s evolving energy landscape.

This yearโ€™s conference, themed โ€œInnovate, Invest, Implement: Revolutionizing Financing for Sustainable Energy Sector Growth in Africa,โ€ will serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and actionโ€”particularly in driving sustainable development through energy innovation and technology.

Dr. Aubynn, who is scheduled to speak during the fourth plenary session, expressed his enthusiasm about participating in what has become Africaโ€™s flagship energy technology event.

About the PHDC

The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) was established under the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation Act, 2020 (Act 1053), to lead the development of a world-class petroleum and petrochemical hub in Ghana for the West African sub-region and beyond.

The Corporation aims to meet the continentโ€™s growing demand for petroleum products and services by promoting innovation, research, and strategic infrastructure. By developing an integrated value chain, the PHDC seeks to unlock economic opportunities, support industrial growth, and create jobs for Ghanaians and other African citizens.

About the Petroleum Hub

The Petroleum Hub project is a $60billion project set to be constructed at Jomoro in the Western Region of Ghana.

The project encompasses 3 refineries with a production capacity of 300,000 BPSD, 5 petrochemical
plants with 90,000 BPSD minimum, storage tanks with 10 million m3 capacity and at least two jetties.
