The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) has had preliminary engagements with members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy during the 2025 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.
The session, led by PHDC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Toni Aubynn and supported by Deputy CEOs Halimatu Sadia Abdulai and Onasis Rosely, along with the Business Development team, offered lawmakers a detailed briefing on the scope, objectives, and progress of the Petroleum Hub project.
The engagement was designed to deepen the committee members’ understanding of the project and equip them with the necessary information to enhance their oversight responsibilities. It also positioned the MPs as key advocates who can support the promotion and marketing of the hub to potential investors.
Reflecting on the meeting, Dr. Aubynn described the interaction as a significant milestone in PHDC’s efforts to build stakeholder support. He commended the MPs for their time and keen interest in the project.
“I want to thank the members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy who joined us at the conference,” Dr. Aubynn said. “They gave us over two hours of their time and showed genuine commitment to understanding the vision behind the Petroleum Hub.”
He added, “Following our discussions, it was evident that they support President Mahama’s vision to develop this complex and ambitious industrial project using Ghana’s hydrocarbon resources.”
The Petroleum Hub project is an integrated petroleum and petrochemical complex that will include refineries, petrochemical plants, storage facilities, jetties, port infrastructure, an airstrip, and other supporting components. It is envisioned as a transformative initiative to position Ghana as a competitive hub for energy and industrial investment in West Africa.
