On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, a two-member delegation from the AEC paid a courtesy call on PHDC’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Toni Aubynn, and his team to explore potential areas of strategic partnership.

The visit followed the AEC Investor Briefing Conference held at the Kempinski Gold Cost Hotel on Monday, April 14, in Accra where PHDC actively participated. The meeting provided an opportunity for the AEC to acknowledge PHDC’s engagement in the event and extend a formal invitation to the upcoming Africa Energy Week (AEW), scheduled for September 29 to October 3, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, AEC Senior Vice President, Mr. Verner Ayukegba, affirmed the Chamber’s keen interest in supporting the Petroleum Hub Project. He commended PHDC’s efforts and noted that the project’s vision—positioning Ghana as Africa’s preferred hub for petroleum processing and refining—strongly aligns with the AEC’s strategic priorities for the continent’s energy future.

Mr. Ayukegba emphasised that the AEC, with its extensive network of energy investors, financiers, policymakers, and industry leaders across Africa and beyond, is well positioned to connect PHDC to a broader pool of potential partners and investors.

Dr. Toni Aubynn, in turn, welcomed the AEC’s interest and provided a comprehensive overview of the Corporation’s work and the progress of the Petroleum Hub Project. He underscored PHDC’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that enhance visibility, attract investment, and create valuable networking opportunities within the global energy industry.

Dr. Aubynn expressed optimism that a formal collaboration with the AEC would contribute significantly to the realisation of Ghana’s petroleum hub vision.
