As discussions with the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation on a potential partnership reach a critical phase, indigenous Ghanaian financial institution OmniBSIC Bank has expressed its absolute confidence in the Petroleum Hub project as an initiative that will deliver remarkable success and propel the growth of indigenous Ghanaian firms.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the PHDC led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Toni Aubynn on Monday, August 17, 2026,  the Managing Director of OmniBSIC Bank, Daniel Asiedu, stated that his firm’s interest and belief in the project stem from its potential to drive domestic industrialisation and empower indigenous companies.

He noted that, as an indigenous financial institution, his organisation maintains a natural openness and receptiveness to locally owned projects and that, because the Petroleum Hub is a Ghanaian initiative designed to foster sustainable economic growth, OmniBSIC Bank is fully committed.

“We are a local bank that is forward-looking, and any project that will impact the economy positively is something that we are very much interested in. Any project that will enhance the brand and image of Ghana, we are very much interested in and want to be associated with, so our doors are open. We are very much interested in the Petroleum Hub project,” Mr Daniel Asiedu stated in his brief welcome address.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of the PHDC, Dr Toni Aubynn, outlined the efforts of PHDC to ensure that local firms participate actively in the Petroleum Hub project.

He stated that PHDC, as part of its promotional plans, is motivating and encouraging local firms to view the Petroleum Hub project as a viable destination for their expansion and growth, with guaranteed returns.

He commended OmniBSIC Bank for the readiness it has shown towards the project and affirmed that the PHDC will continue to engage the institution in the firm hope that the partnership will yield positive results.

The ongoing negotiations between OmniBSIC and PHDC are centred on securing a financial facility for the payment of compensation for the 12,356-acre land earmarked for the Petroleum Hub project.

PHDC, under the leadership of Dr Toni Aubynn, is exploring various avenues to raise the required funding for the project.
