The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) is making significant strides in its mission to create 780,000 direct and indirect job opportunities for Ghanaians through the ambitious Petroleum Hub Project, an initiative spearheaded by His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This transformative project aims to modernize and diversify Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector into a financially sustainable “Energy Economy”.

To ensure all Ghanaians can access the abundant opportunities within the Petroleum Hub, the PHDC Data Repository is opened. This centralized platform is designed to streamline operations, attract investors, and connect qualified talent with jobs across the petroleum hub. The platform ensures that no one is left behind, offering equal access to all job seekers.

As part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness, a team from PHDC, led by CEO Charles Owusu, is currently touring the country to educate potential job seekers on how to apply for positions in the Data Repository and to demonstrate the system’s features.

The tour kicks off in the Western Region, with visits to Jomoro, Esiama, and Takoradi on November 25th and 26th, followed by engagements with students at Cape Coast Technical University, University of Winneba, and Winneba Nursing Training School in the Central Region on November 27th. The team will then head to Accra on November 28th and continue to Koforidua in the Eastern Region on November 29th.

Further stops include Suame Magazine and Kumasi Technical University in the Ashanti Region on November 30th, before heading to Sunyani in the Bono Region for engagements with students and market traders. The team will then proceed to Tamale in the Northern Region, followed by stops in Ho, Juapong, and Hohoe in the Volta Region, before returning to Accra on December 5th and 6th.

This national tour aligns with Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s quest of leveraging digitalization and innovation to drive economic growth. The PHDC Data Repository is central to ensuring equitable access to the wealth of opportunities created by the Petroleum Hub, empowering citizens with sustainable livelihoods and contributing to the nation’s economic transformation.

Through these efforts, the Petroleum Hub Project will not only accelerate economic growth but also enhance the skills and employment prospects of Ghanaians, positioning the country as a leader in the growing global energy sector.
