The closing ceremony of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-9) took place on Friday, August 22, 2025, with the full delegation of the Letโs Go To Asia (LGTA) initiative in attendance.
Led by Dr. Toni Aubynn, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), the team had a rewarding experience in Japan. They actively participated in key TICAD-9 events and held business-to-business meetings, fostering knowledge exchange and building networks with prominent Japanese companies.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Aubynn provided a comprehensive overview of the Petroleum Hub project, highlighting its key features and its appeal to Ghanaian investors.
He emphasised that TICAD-9 provided the PHDC and the delegation with valuable opportunities to forge new partnerships, strengthen existing relationships, and generate increased interest in the project.
Notable Ghanaian companies participating in the Japan segment of the Letโs Go To Asia 2025 initiative included Rockfield Mining & Construction Ltd., Strategic Initiatives Ltd., and Archxenus Company Ltd.
Following the Japan segment, the LGTA initiative continues in Singapore, where the Africa Singapore Business Forum serves as the flagship event. In Singapore, the delegation will participate in a series of conferences and events, as well as visit key business facilities, to further its objectives.
