The booth, hosted by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the PHDC, Dr. Toni Aubynn, and the entire PHDC delegation serving as representatives, welcomed visitors from around the world, including numerous investors and groups eager to learn about the transformative Petroleum Hub project.ย

Among the notable visitors were the Deputy Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, Andrew Maharaj, Senior Trade and Counsellor, Canadian High Commission, Edwina Atta-Sonno, Executive Secretary of Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce and members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy.ย

Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, a speaker at the PHDCโs inaugural inter-agency dialogue, engaged with Dr. Aubynn and the delegation to deepen his understanding of the project and to champion its objectives as an ambassador.ย
The Energy Committee membersโ enthusiasm for the project has intensified following a strategic retreat where the PHDC presented the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the Petroleum Hub initiative.ย
Having been enlightened on the projectโs potential to revolutionize the economy, the lawmakers pledged their unwavering support and expressed their willingness to serve as advocates in engagements with investors and stakeholders.ย
The PHDC booth also drew global investors, who were introduced to the ambitious and monumental Petroleum Hub project.ย
Dr. Toni Aubynn, alongside his Deputy CEO for Finance and Administration, Halimatu Abdulai Sadia, and the entire PHDC delegation, took turns engaging visitors and providing comprehensive insights into the Petroleum Hub project.ย
About the PHDCย
The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) was established under the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation Act, 2020 (Act 1053) to lead the development of a world-class petroleum and petrochemical hub in Ghana. The hub is intended to serve the energy needs of the West African sub-region and the broader continent.ย
PHDC aims to promote innovation, research, and strategic infrastructure development to meet Africaโs growing demand for petroleum products and services. By creating an integrated petroleum value chain, the Corporation seeks to unlock economic opportunities, foster industrial growth, and create sustainable employment for Ghanaians and citizens across Africa.ย
About the Petroleum Hub Projectย
The Petroleum Hub Project, estimated at $60 billion, will be located in Jomoro, in Ghanaโs Western Region. The hub will comprise:ย
Three refineries with a total capacity of 900,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD),ย
Five petrochemical plants with a minimum capacity of 90,000 BPSD,ย
Storage tanks with a cumulative capacity of 10 million cubic meters,ย
And at least two jetties to support import and export activities.ย
The project is poised to position Ghana as a leading petroleum and petrochemical hub in Africa, enhancing regional energy security and economic integration.ย
