The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, in charge of Operations and Technical, Onasis Rosely, has stressed the importance of teamwork, unity, and love in the Corporation’s efforts to develop Ghana’s Petroleum Hub project.

During the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation’s 2026 Valentine’s Day celebration, Onasis Rosely remarked that choosing to focus the event on “teamwork”, a core value of the Corporation, was particularly  fitting

He urged staff to embrace teamwork, consolidate their expertise and talents, and work together as the Corporation continues to facilitate investment in Ghana’s petroleum hub project.

“Love means relating well with one another. At PHDC, we place a lot of emphasis on teamwork. We have been tasked with executing a major project, and at its heart is teamwork. We believe nobody should work in silos.

“There is a need to synergise the energies we have. There are no divisions or exceptions. Everyone brings different expertise and strengths to move the work forward,” he said.

The Director of Human Capital at PHDC, Dominic A. Osei, reflected on the impact of programmes such as the Valentine’s Day celebration on team bonding, unity and, ultimately, teamwork.

He believes such events serve as an occasional reminder to staff that the ultimate goal of developing Ghana’s biggest petroleum and petrochemical hub can only be achieved through the concerted and collaborative efforts of the Corporation’s staff.

The Head of General Services, Adwoa Osaebea Oduro Konadu, urged staff to be deliberate in ensuring that their actions reflect the Corporation’s core values.

She stated that these values must not remain abstract but must be clearly visible in the actions and decisions of every staff member.

The convivial event, held at the forecourt of the PHDC head office in Accra, featured a gift-sharing exercise among staff and management.

About the PHDC

The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) was established under the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation Act, 2020 (Act 1053), to lead the development of a world-class petroleum and petrochemical hub in Ghana. The hub is intended to serve the energy needs of the West African sub-region and the broader continent.

PHDC aims to promote innovation, research, and strategic infrastructure development to meet Africa’s growing demand for petroleum products and services. By creating an integrated petroleum value chain, the Corporation seeks to unlock economic opportunities, foster industrial growth, and create sustainable employment for Ghanaians and citizens across Africa.

About the Petroleum Hub Project

The Petroleum Hub Project will be located in Jomoro, in Ghana’s Western Region. The hub will comprise: Three refineries with a total capacity of 900,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD),

Five petrochemical plants with a minimum capacity of 90,000 BPSD. Storage tanks with a cumulative capacity of 10 million cubic meters and at least two jetties to support import and export activities.

The project is poised to position Ghana as a leading petroleum and petrochemical hub in Africa, enhancing regional energy security and economic integration.
