The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) commenced its participation in the 2025 Global Energy Show in Calgary with a series of impactful engagements with global exhibitors and strategic partners aimed at advancing Ghanaโ€™s energy infrastructure and investment agenda.

The Chief Executive Officer Dr. Toni Aubynn and his Deputy in charge of Finance and Administration, together with Director of Operations and Technical, Kwabena Owusu-Abrokwa; and Senior Business Development Manager, Abigail Abrokwa engaged with key players across the global energy value chain, showcasing Ghanaโ€™s vision for the multi-billion-dollar Petroleum Hub project and exploring opportunities for investment, technical collaboration, and knowledge transfer.

The PHDC booth drew significant interest on the opening day, attracting a diverse range of stakeholders, including technology solution providers, infrastructure developers, and investors seeking to understand Ghanaโ€™s positioning as a future downstream energy hub for West Africa.

Speaking on the sidelines of the exhibition, Senior Business Development Manager Abigail Abrokwa expressed optimism about the quality of interactions held on the first day.

โ€œWeโ€™ve had insightful conversations with potential partners who are keen on contributing to our vision, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, refinery technology, and logistics. The level of interest reaffirms the global appetite for energy investments in Africa, and PHDC is well-positioned to channel that interest into tangible outcomes,โ€ she said.

Director of Operations and Technical, Kwabena Abrokwa, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the relevance of global exhibitions like the Global Energy Show in helping PHDC align its project with cutting-edge technologies and operational standards.

He noted that โ€œThis platform gives us a front-row view of innovations that can be integrated into our planning and execution phasesโ€.

Adding to the dayโ€™s significance, the PHDC booth received a courtesy visit from some members of Ghanaโ€™s Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy, who are also attending the event as part of efforts to deepen understanding of global energy trends and promote legislative support for Ghanaโ€™s energy ambitions.

The committee members commended PHDC for its visibility and proactive engagement on the international stage, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration between policymakers and implementers in driving the success of the hub.

As one of the largest energy conferences and exhibitions in North America, the Global Energy Show presents a valuable opportunity for PHDC to market Ghana as an attractive destination for energy sector investment and forge partnerships that will accelerate the realization of the Petroleum Hub.

The PHDC delegation is expected to continue a series of bilateral meetings and technical discussions in the days ahead, building on the momentum of a successful first day.

The team also expressed profound gratitude to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and the Petroleum Commission For the immense support to the PHDC.
