The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) held a strategic end-of-year Staff Durbar on Friday, December 19, 2025. The program brought together management and staff to reflect on the corporationโs achievements in 2025 and outline strategic priorities for the year ahead.
The durbar, held in an atmosphere of unity and optimism, provided a platform for management to engage staff on institutional growth, operational milestones, and the critical role of teamwork in advancing the governmentโs vision of building the largest petroleum and petrochemical hub in Africa.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of PHDC, Dr Toni Aubynn, commended the employees for their dedication, professionalism, and resilience, which have strengthened the corporationโs institutional foundation throughout the year.
He also noted that their collective efforts have indeed placed the project on a pedestal for investors around the world and enhanced stakeholder confidence in the petroleum hub project.
Dr. Toni Aubynn concluded his speech by emphasising the importance of teamwork and its catalytic effect on achieving great milestones in every corporation.
The Deputy CEO for Finance & Administration, Halimatu Sadia Abdulai Abu, also highlighted key progress made by the corporation in 2025 and expressed appreciation to the staff for their sacrifices, dedication, and commitment throughout the year.
The durbar also served as an opportunity for the corporationโs leadership to outline expectations for 2026, with emphasis on efficiency, accountability, teamwork, and a results-driven work culture.
Staff were encouraged to uphold high ethical and professional standards and remain committed to the corporationโs mandate of facilitating the building of Africaโs hub of choice.
An interactive session was opened for staff to share their concerns and suggestions, which reinforced the importance of open communication and inclusiveness in institutional development.
The End-of-Year Staff Durbar forms part of PHDCโs internal engagement framework, aimed at strengthening corporate culture by boosting morale and aligning staff with the corporationโs long-term vision for national development.
