The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation is leaving no stone unturned in the quest to lead government’s US$60 billion project to ensure that our country becomes a hub for refined products in the West African sub-region and beyond.
Pursuant to the above objective, the CEO for the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Mr. Charles Owusu and his Deputy in charge of Technical and Operations, Nana Ama Tima Boakye attended the just ended 2nd edition of the African Energy Week in Cape Town, South Africa.
They held engagements with private sector leaders and key decision makers, explaining government’s policy intention underpinning the petroleum hub agenda The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation pitched strongly the need for Africa to deepen sectoral linkages and facilitate the effective and efficient utilization of its oil and gas resources. The Corporation indicated that this is the reason the government of Ghana is establishing a Petroleum and Petrochemicals Hub to be made up of refining and processing facilities, port discharge, storage, distribution and transportation facilities as well as trading of petroleum products in Ghana for the West African market and beyond.
The Corporation continues to push this narrative not oblivious of the current energy transition conversation but makes the point that, Africa must continue to leverage on its oil and gas resources for a fair and an equitable transition. This, the Corporation reckons will ensure that Ghana and by extension the entire African continent is not left with stranded petroleum assets. The Corporation stands ready, willing, able and will work assiduously for the needed strategic partnerships, to translate this all-important Ghanaian dream into reality.
