The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency and Deputy Minister of Transport, Hon. Dorcas Afo-Toffey, has reaffirmed her unwavering support for the Petroleum Hub Project, stating that she will do everything within her power to ensure that the project is fully developed.
Speaking during a familiarisation visit to the project office of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation on Monday, May 25, 2026, Hon. Afo-Toffey disclosed that her visit was motivated by a desire to familiarise herself with the ongoing land acquisition activities in the area.
Addressing the team from the Lands Commission, the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), and volunteers working on the acquisition of the 12,356-acre land for the transformational project, Hon. Dorcas Afo-Toffey restated her commitment to ensuring that the Petroleum Hub Project becomes a reality for the people of Jomoro and Ghana as a whole.
“For the engineers on site, I want you to know that I am right behind you and we will do whatever it takes to make sure the project sees the light of day,” she stated.
She further disclosed that she has been actively engaging various stakeholders and institutions to ensure that all necessary processes are expedited for the smooth implementation of the project.
“This project is important to me. I have not slept for days as I actively chase stakeholders to make sure this project comes to fruition,” she added.
According to the Honourable Member of Parliament, the Petroleum Hub Project holds enormous potential to drive industrialisation, create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth, and stimulate infrastructure development within the Jomoro Municipality.
She therefore called on residents and stakeholders to support the ongoing engagements and fully embrace the project, which is expected to position Ghana as a major petroleum and petrochemical hub in Africa while strengthening the country’s energy security and creating long-term socio-economic opportunities for future generations.
