The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) is exerting every effort to woo investors for the Petroleum Hub project, with the successful staging of the PHDC Investor Breakfast Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, marking yet another significant achievement in the corporationโs journey.
Held as part of its Letโs Go to Asia initiative, the event brought together investors and business leaders from the private and public sectors across Asia, Africa, and beyond to explore the lucrative investment prospects embedded in Ghanaโs Petroleum Hub project.
In his opening remarks at the event, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the PHDC, Dr. Toni Aubynn, described the event as a calculated strategy to forge closer ties with prospective investors and partners, securing their commitment and collaboration.
He reaffirmed the projectโs significance as Ghanaโs most audacious venture to establish itself as a preeminent force in West Africa and across the continent.
โThis initiative represents a bold vision by the Government of Ghana to position our country as a leading integrated energy hub in West Africa and beyond. And we are not talking about incremental progress, we are talking about a project of continental scale and global significance,โ he said.
Dr. Aubynn elucidated the projectโs distinctive attributes, positioning it as an enticing opportunity for investors, and issued a compelling call to action, urging them to join Ghana in realising this transformative hub.
โWe are building not only infrastructure, but confidence, trust, and long-term partnerships. As we move from vision to execution, collaboration with global investors, technical experts, developers, and policy stakeholders will be key to our success.
โWe are committed to ensuring that the Petroleum Hub is developed in a sustainable, transparent, and commercially viable manner. Today’s platform is a call to action, to explore how your institutions can align with this transformative journey and be part of something truly generational.
โI encourage you to engage, connect, and envision the future with us. Ghana is open for business, and the time is now,โ he said.
In his closing address, Onasis Rosely, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Operations and Technical at PHDC, expressed profound gratitude to the Ghana High Commission in Malaysia and other collaborators for their instrumental roles in the eventโs success.
He emphasised that the occasion represented a significant stride toward securing funding for the project and reflected the Ghanaian governmentโs resolute determination to actualise a venture poised to revolutionise the energy landscape in Ghana and Africa.
โToday has been a defining moment, not only in articulating the bold vision of the Petroleum Hub project but also in laying the groundwork for collaboration, innovation, and investment. We have been privileged to engage with visionary leaders, dynamic enterprises, and forward-thinking stakeholders who share our conviction in the projectโs potential.
โThe Petroleum Hub transcends a mere development initiative; it is a catalyst for profound transformation. It heralds a future where Ghana emerges not as a mere participant in the global energy economy but as a trailblazer, connecting Africa to the world through energy, infrastructure, trade, and shared prosperity,โ he affirmed.
Key highlights of the event included an insightful presentation on the Petroleum Hub project by Abigail Abrokwa, Senior Manager of Business Development, and an interactive Q&A session, where PHDC officials meticulously addressed inquiries from investors and stakeholders.
